    Advantages of CFA Society Atlanta Membership

    CFA Membership Requirements

    We offer two types of membership in partnership with the CFA Institute. Regular membership is recommended for CFA Program candidates and is required for award of the CFA charter. For investment professionals who do not plan to pursue the CFA charter, affiliate membership is the appropriate track.

    CFA Regular Membership

    Who is this for?

    Investment professionals directly involved in or supporting the investment decision-making process. Regular membership is a prerequisite to earning the CFA charter and CIPM certificate.       

    How do I become eligible?

    A bachelor's degree or equivalent education/work experience and a passing score for the Level I CFA Exam, CIPM Program Level II Exam, RBA Netherlands Exam, or the self-administered Standards of Practice Exam.

    How much are annual dues?

    $ 275 for CFA Institute + $ 100  for CFA Society Atlanta 

    When is the membership year?

    The membership year spans from 1 July to 30 June. (Annual dues will be pro-rated for those joining CFA Institute and a member society for the first time)

    CFA Affiliate Membership

    Who is this for? 

    Investment professionals who do not meet the eligibility requirements of regular memberships or do not intend to participate in the CFA Program or CIPM Program.

    How do I become eligible?

    You must meet the eligibility requirements for your selected member society and become a member of that society.

    How much are annual dues?

    $ 275 for CFA Institute + $ 100  for CFA Society Atlanta

    Local Associate Options for Industry Professionals and Students

    Participant Associate – Will be able to attend all meetings of CFA Society Atlanta, both educational and organizational. Participant Associate will pay the same annual local chapter dues (currently $100) as our regular and affiliate members. Associates will not have any voting rights concerning CFA Society Atlanta matters, as they are affiliates and not local chapter members, and will not be provided with any CFA Institute-distributed materials, since they will not be members of the CFA Institute. Program Participants will have to sign a statement of intention to abide by the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct of the CFA Institute and will have to provide two CFA Society Atlanta regular members as sponsors. The CFA Society Atlanta Membership Committee will assist any applicants who need help in obtaining sponsors. BONUS CFA Society Atlanta Member Benefit, you will also receive two free luncheon vouchers each fiscal year (July 1 through June 30).

    Student Associate – Will have the same participation privileges and limitations as described above for Participant Associates, but will pay reduced annual local chapter dues at the level paid by our academic members (currently $45). Student Associates will not have any voting rights concerning CFA Society Atlanta matters, as they are affiliates and not local chapter members, and will not be provided with any CFA Institute-distributed materials, since they will not be members of the CFA Institute. Student Participants will have to provide two CFA Society Atlanta regular members as sponsors along with a copy of their currently valid student identification card or other identification showing that they are a student. The CFA Society Atlanta Membership Committee will assist any applicants who need help in obtaining sponsors.
