    CFA Charterholders Eligible for Stackable CAIA Program

    The CAIA Association and CFA Institute are engaged in the shared mission of excellence in investment education.  The CAIA Stackable Credential program allows CFA charterholders to waive passage of Level I of the CAIA exam and immediately begin preparing for Level II.  Upon successfully passing the Level II exam and joining the CAIA Association, the Candidate will earn the prestigious CAIA Charter, a mark of distinction in the fast-growing and highly competitive alternative investment industry.

    Eligibility for the CAIA Stackable Credential Program

    The minimum criteria for eligibility in the program are as follows. Applicants:

    1. Must have no existing CAIA exam history, (examples of exam history include those who have registered for or passed/failed the Level I or Level II exam)
    2. Must be a CFA Charterholder, in good standing, and
    3. Must have a digital badge (issued by Basnos, via CFA Institute), verifiable by CAIA Association.

    September 13 – September 24th  – Level II Examinations (both on-site and online proctored exam experiences are available

    We are just under one month from the 7th Annual CofC Strategic Investment Symposium, presented by the School of Business Investment Program at the College of Charleston on April 9, 2021We have (unsurprisingly) been forced to move the event to an entirely virtual format this year due to ongoing COVID concerns.  While it is unfortunate that we cannot welcome you all to beautiful Charleston, we remain confident that we can offer high-quality, thoughtful, and impactful conversations covering a wide variety of topics within investment management.  


    We are thrilled to offer this event free of charge this year, but registration is required to ensure a smooth process throughout the day.  Each year, the Program hosts top speakers and industry professionals for a one-day event on strategic investment management. The Symposium is designed to allow for a dynamic exchange of ideas related to a wide range of investment management strategies and concepts.  It is meant to serve as a unique opportunity for the rapidly growing financial community in Charleston to network and interact with other professionals, as well as the students and faculty/staff of the School of Business.

    Although virtual, the schedule in the morning will be much the same as the past several years.  It will feature a Global Markets Outlook panel session, followed by the Keynote Address. This year, Dr. David Kelly, Chief Global Strategist for JP Morgan, will lead the keynote discussion. Following the break for lunch, the afternoon session schedule will be a somewhat shortened version from the last couple of years. Each of the two one-hour long breakout periods will feature three distinct options for attendees.  Featured in the first session are choices of Value Investing and Quant Investing, along with a new session for us that will provide thoughtful and productive conversation on the importance of Business Culture.  In this latter section, registrants will be part of a frank discussion on the critical role diversity and inclusion play in creating a vibrant and successful culture for your business.  During the second and final breakout period, registrants can select from real estate investing, private equity investing, or ESG investing.

In attending, you will be given access to extremely successful, experienced, and entertaining speakers throughout the day. It will also be an excellent opportunity for you to connect and interact with the professional financial industry. The students and I greatly appreciate your support and feel you will find it an enriching way to spend a day.
