Live Competition

Hosted by CFA Society Atlanta and in conjunction with CFA Society Alabama and CFA Society South Carolina, university teams from Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina are taking part in this challenge with work beginning in October 2020 and culminating with our Live Competition via webinar.  Competing in this challenge takes a tremendous commitment on behalf of the students and faculty.

The five teams with the strongest written report scores will advance to this round.  Please join us to watch the dynamic and always impressive student presentations.  We are excited to see who takes the coveted Chalice Cup back to campus!

Background

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a global competition that tests the analytic, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills of university students. The challenge comprises analysis of a publicly-traded company, mentoring by a professional research analyst, writing a research report, and presentation of research to a panel of experts.  The first Research Challenge competition was hosted by the New York Society of Security Analysts in 2002 and involved just five teams from the New York area. Since then, the competition has grown to include thousands of students from over 1,000 universities in more than 75 countries.
